Field Trips / Study Tours

SCMC takes learning beyond desks and chairs and enables the student to venture out for various field visits and educational tours. The places for these visits are planned at the beginning of every academic semester and the visits are scheduled to be interspersed between the academic days.

The various excursions that students of SCMC have undertaken so far are:

Kaun Banega Crorepati shoot at Film City

The students have visited the shooting of Kaun Banega Crorepati at Film City in Mumbai. Witnessing the inaugural episode of a new season, the students also got the rare opportunity to interact with the famed hosts Amitabh Bacchan and Shah Rukh Khan during the visit.

Cleaning of Mula Mutha River

Taking up the cause of environmental pollution, the clean-up of the Mulla Mutha River in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune is to inculcate a sense of responsibility in the students towards upkeep of the city’s water bodies. As a part of campaign organised by Ocean Conservancy, USA, these efforts develop team spirit and bonding between the students.

Vetal Tekdi

With mystical legends attached to the place, Vetal Tekdi in Pune provides one of the best opportunities for some early morning trek. Students embarking on this trip see themselves reaching a cliff that provides a serene and picturesque view of the beautiful city.

Karla Bhaja Caves and Lohagad Fort

Signifying the Buddhist traditions associated with the country, the Karla-Bhaja caves give insights into the practices of the ancient Buddhist Monks. The insignias related to this philosophy like the stupa and meditation rooms are placed for viewing. This is followed by the muscle-wrenching yet exciting trek towards one of the many forts in Pune – Lohagad.

Asia Plateau at Panchgani

This marks the inaugural out bound trip for students of SCMC. Undertaken a few weeks from their induction into the college, this study tour provides an opportunity for students to learn effective living and leadership in hands of seasoned trainers. This programme with its fair share of fun and frolic invigorates the student an gears him to start this journey on a memorable note.

SIMC PG – Lavale Campus

This 4-day trip to Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (Post Graduate) in Lavale is an exciting and enriching experience for the students. Here they are provided with hands on training and use of the latest technology used by the media institute. Students get to experience the shooting floor and news broadcast simulations alike. The beautiful setting of the Lavale Campus on the top of a hill brings a unique experience to the students who are more enriched and fresh by the end of the tour.

Kune Mission

A tour spanning up to 2 days, this tour provides the much needed break and refreshment during the latter half of the semester. Kune Mission is situated in the Lonavala district of Maharashtra and is considered to be one of the earliest Missionary set ups in the state. A few steps away from the premise gives a view of the waterfall spot where the first Liril soap television advertisement was shot. Students also engage in learning through lectures set up in a novel surrounding.

SIOM, Coin Museum and Sula Vineyard

A two day study tour to Symbiosis Institute of Operational Management (SIOM) in Nasik is another study tour that students can look forward to. The tour begins with a visit to the Coin Musem en route to SIOM, Nasik. This tour is also marked with a visit to the most successful and famous Vineyards in the country – Sula Vineyard. A guided tour of the Vineyard gives the students an opportunity to understanding the process of wine making – right from the initial process of sowing seeds for the grapes to the brewing to the final bottling process.
